Learning outcomes1. By the end of the semester students will be able to:
use elementary rules of writing, reading and pronunciation in a spanish language;
2. use simple phrases and sentences in basic communication in a foreign language;
3. understand simple texts while reading (mainly composed from the independent clauses and most frequently used vocabulary);
4. derive basic information from the listening materials;
5. recognize and describe specific elements in a language.

How to present/introduce yourself professionally and casually.

Nouns, adjectives and personal pronouns.
Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures (using a simple text).

Nouns, adjectives and personal pronouns.
Reasons to learn Spanish (discussion through a simple conversation).

Present of regular verbs. University vocabulary.

Study in Argentina, its geography and culture (text, video, discussion).

7.
Possessive Pronouns.
Personal relations (family, physical and character traits).

Influential people in Spanish Speaking Cultures (texts, video, games).

Verb “gustar“ and similar verbs (form and usage). Personal Pronouns: Indirect object. Free Time Activities Vocabulary.

Present: Irregular Verbs.
Forms and when we use them (different types of exercises).

Study in Chile and its geography and culture (text, video, discussion).
Mandatory homework on Omega.

Christmas and New Year's Eve Traditions in Spanish Speaking Cultures (texts and exercises, revision of acquired material).

How to make a presentation, students choose a topic for their presentations they need to deliver in the last month of the term.

use reading techniques for a specific/scientific literature in a spanish language.
2. Recognize usual methods of structuring a specific/scientific text from overall organization of a text to organizing paragraphs;
3. Use sentence structures in an academic discourse;
4. Summarize and present the content of a listening material;
5. Write the summary of a specific/scientific text.
