Arijela Fabrio was born on August 5, 1963 in Rijeka.
She finished primary and secondary school in Zagreb where in 1988 she graduated in English and Italian language and literature. She worked in the Zagreb Youth Theater, Croatian Television and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, covering foreign press and journalists. In 1993 she transferred to the Faculty of Philosophy (now Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) where in 2008 she was elected a senior lecturer in Italian, today Italian for Academic Purposes.
In 2008 she received her master’s degree from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, scientific field of humanities, field of philology. Italian literature, topic of Marchese Comombi’s Poetics. In 2020 she received her doctorate on the topic of Matilde Serao and Marija Jurić Zagorka, two models of women’s literary and social engagement of the 19th and 20th centuries.
She attends a scholarships for Italian language training, receives a multi-month scholarship from the Ministry of foreign Affairs and attends a Diplomatic school in Rome and obtains a diploma of a Young diplomat of the Republic of Italy. She collaborates on Croatian Radio, literary and theater magazines, publishes professional and scientific papers and participates in linguistic workshops and conferences.
